Market Invoice appoints Zopa’s Giles Andrews as chairman

Leading peer-to-peer invoice platform Market Invoice announced the appointment of Giles Andrews as chairman on Monday, bringing his 25 years of experience to the helm of the company.

Andrews, who is currently the chairman of the world’s first peer-to-peer lending platform Zopa, will work directly with co-founders Anil Stocker and Ilya Kondrashov to drive scale in the business, as well as chairing and managing the board of directors.

Andrews said of his new role: “MarketInvoice is transforming the landscape of the business finance industry. I have long been fascinated by their game-changing and innovative attitude. I look forward to working with the team in channelling their drive and ambition.”

Market Invoice have funded over £1.1 billion against invoices since the company’s conception in 2011, lending £2,196 every minute to UK businesses in 2016. The company recently raised £7.2 million in series B funding from European venture capital fund Northzone and private equity group MCI Capital, increased their staff to 90 and moved into new offices in Shoreditch.
