Ibiza is famous for its party scene; the bars, the night clubs and beach parties. However, that isn’t compulsory when visiting the island. Ibiza is home to some of the most beautiful views in the Balearics and, from sunrise to sunset, there is always a chance to experience them.
One of the best things about Ibiza is that the island covers just 221 sq. miles, meaning that everything is easy to get to. Although there are good public transport links and taxis, a great idea is to rent a car from the airport. This gives you the freedom to explore as much or as little of the area as you’d like. You can wind down the car windows and feel the summer breeze through your hair, travel along the windy Ibizan roads and discover hidden gems.
Day 1
Breakfast at Passion Café
On the busy Playa d’en Bossa strip you will find Passion Café. ‘Home of health and happiness’, it is a place that prides itself on selling fabulous feel-good breakfasts and juices. Luxury villa rental company Sun-hat, who have several properties in Ibiza and know the area well, suggest trying the pancakes – for no reason other than pancakes are always a good idea. They also serve vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. There are a number of Passion Café’s scattered around Ibiza, so depending on where you’re staying, it’s likely you’ll be able to enjoy something from Passion.
Morning at the Marina
Each year the Santa Eulalia Marina attracts a whole host of exclusive yachts owned by the rich and famous. Stopping off here is a must if you want to catch a glimpse of all the super yachts and spend the morning sunning yourself and people watching; who knows, you might even spot a famous face! If you fancy sailing through the sea in style, Sea Amigos offers luxury boat hire for the day. The port is also known for its fabulous shops and exquisite restaurants. Visitors can try out authentic Mediterranean cuisine or take their pick at one of the other Italian, Indian or German restaurants.
Lovelock Bridge
Along the Santa Eulalia River you’ll find Ibiza’s very own Lovelock Bridge. You can take a stroll along the riverbank and admire the quaint fishing and sailing boats floating along the clear blue water. Couples can follow the Spanish tradition and buy a padlock and engrave their names on it or write them in permanent marker. They then simply attach the lock to the bridge and leave it there as an everlasting symbol of their relationship.
Cocktails and Sunset at Mambo
Located on the renowned San Antonio strip is Café Mambo. Enjoy listening to some ambient music whilst sitting on the rocks with the rest of the crowd, drinking some cocktails; all whilst applauding the sun as it goes. The colours of the sunset are amazing and you’ll also be treated to watching fire dancers once the sun has set; the food in the restaurant is a hit with us too!
Day 2
Sunrise: Watch the sun come up
If you find a morning where you can face getting up before 6:30am, why not take a walk down to the beach and watch the sunrise. Ibiza is home to some of the most picturesque views, including in the morning, so make the most of it! We suggest, taking a breakfast picnic, or even stopping at one of the cafes (if they are open) and taking away some delicious food. This is the perfect way to find some calm, in an area that is usually so hectic and busy. If you can bare getting up earlier and want to make the most of the amazing sunrise, then take our advice and visit Cala Llonga beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Ibiza, and enjoy the stunning views there.
Tasty Tapas
With its cosy interiors and chilled out outside eating area, La Bodega is a fantastic option for tapas food. It appeals to foodies who enjoy sampling lots of different dishes, traditional cuisine, local produce and high-quality wines. For those with a sweet tooth try the chocolate bomb dessert and, for fish lovers, the salmon toast is delicious too!
Happy Hippy
Hippy markets are one of Ibiza’s most notorious attractions and it is a great chance to do some shopping! One of the most famous hippy markets is Las Dalias. Within the market you can find handmade clothing, bohemian jewellery and various souvenirs. Although most of the markets are open in the daytime, at night they really come alive! The markets usually close at 11:30pm. There is chance to experience the energetic atmosphere featuring live performances, try out authentic street food and hear some unique and legendary stories in the enchanting garden.
Dinner by the Sea
End your holiday in style with a relaxing meal by the sea.
