Hydro+ begins fundraising on Crowdcube

The start-up has 25 days left on Crowdcube.

Now fundraising on Crowdcube, Hydro+ is a new and innovative hydration drink by Club Consultants Ltd that is hoping to revolutionise the sports drink industry.

Currently having raised 17 percent of their target, Hydro+ is showing popularity having been sold in 20 gyms and health clubs across the UK so far.

The new drink is both sugar and calorie free, whilst also containing essential electrolytes for gym goers.

“Having installed its first systems in early 2015, the business is just about to move into its next phase, with an established base of 20 Hydro+ systems installed in gyms and health clubs throughout England. The existing customer profiles are varied, but our research suggests that they all have in excess of 1500 members.

“Customers vary from premium independent clubs such as The Marlow Club, 3-1-5 Health Club, Bankside and The Club & Spa Birmingham to previously independent clubs now owned by chains, Citypoint (now Nuffield Moorgate) and Xpect Leisure (now Bannatyne Braintree)”

In addition to this, the start-up are also running a pilot with Bannatyne Fitness and Gym Group, who have a combined membership total of 650 thousand members.

Hydro+ will supply gyms and health clubs with a vending system. Their estimates from current clients suggest that revenues per customer will vary between £25,000 and £42,000 over a five-year period.

Chairman and founder, Steve Lewis, hopes to achieve a measurable increase in brand awareness, have successful recruitment of resource required to deliver forecast growth, and a successful outcome to one or both of the pilots, Gym Group and Bannatyne.

From the crowdfunding achieved, the company hope to increase resource in the business including sales, marketing and business development. They will also invest more in product development such as contactless payment card services for pay as you go members.

The directors will aim to provide an exit to shareholders within five – seven years.

So far, Hydro+ has raised over £56,000 of their £325,000 target. They offer an equity of 21.31 percent and have 25 days left on Crowdcube.
