Boozy Udders take to Crowdcube, just in time for summer

The ice cream start-up has 29 days left on Crowdcube.

Premium British cocktail ice cream has started fundraising on the crowdfunding platform, Crowdcube.

Already stocked in 75 different farm shop and boutique cinema chains, the ice-cream startup is off to a promising start.

Made with alcohol, Boozy Udders ice cream are made from fresh ingredients and alcohol with nothing artificial.

“We believe delicious food heightens the enjoyment of life and Boozy Udders brings laughter, fun and frivolity to it.”

Boozy Udders hope to build the brand’s existing foot holding in farm shops and delis via major distributors, whilst launching nationally in UK major grocery stores, upmarket food halls and wine merchants. They also plan to export to key strategic markets and sell party kits direct to consumers.

Having already raised almost £6,000 of their goal, Boody Udders are sure to continue raising money from different investors. The brand has already shown promise among consumers, having won Farm Shop and Deli ‘Best New Product Idea’ Award in April.

“The Luxury Ice Cream category is growing around 15 percent YOY in value and volume. Combine that with the resurgence in the cocktail market where 25 percent of people are now drinking a cocktail once a month. Three of the five most popular cocktails feature in our range.” Boody Udders state on their Crowdcube page, highlighting future potential in the market.

Funds from this round of crowdfunding will be used in several key areas. The team hope to recruit an experienced MD who they have identified and a Head of Sales and other key personnel costs. They also hope to expand their manufacturing and distribution chain. On top of this, funds will be used to develop the brand and packaging ready for the grocery retail market and for marketing campaigns.

“Year to date the business has achieved £34K in sales and is on track to beat targets. Gross margins have remained consistent between 35-40% which is consistent with forecast.”

The large pots (500ml) RRP at £7.95, small pots (90ml) RRP at £2.99 and catering tubs (4 litres) are £55.
