Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has announced plans to build a trade link with Chicago, as part of his #LondonIsOpen campaign started in the wake of Brexit.

The collaboration was announced by Khan at a presentation at WeWork Moorgate, together with the Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel. The pair said they were looking to explore working with each other in areas such as financial services and technology.

London’s promotional agency London & Partners revealed London is the top city outside of the US where Chicago businesses want to forge a presence, making a collaboration between the pair a good move for businesses on both sides of the Atlantic.

“The economic and cultural partnerships between Chicago and London have generated unparalleled investment and job creation on both sides,” Emanuel said.
