COLOGNE, GERMANY
The city of Cologne is a superb backdrop for its not just one, but seven Christmas markets. Soak up the fairytale vibes through the festively decorated city; inhale the delightful aromas of baked apples and cinnamon biscuits that waft through the several connected market places, before getting your annual fill of gluttonous festive treats.
Arguably the most impressive of Colognes markets is situated at the Cathedral, this imposing piece of architecture and the largest Christmas tree in Rhineland provide the perfect backdrop for a truly festive experience.

INNSBRUCK, AUSTRIA
Nestled against the backdrop of snow- capped peaks, Innsbruck is the absolute epitome of a festive winter wonderland. Picture thee striking 46ft Christmas trees shining light across the entire Market place, the mouth watering aroma of freshly made “Kiachln” (piping hot donuts laced with Sauerkraut) and the familiar sound of traditional Christmas carols- one thing that you can be sure of is that Innsbruck will get you in the Christmas spirit.

BIRMINGHAM, UK
There is no need to travel to Germany to experience authentic German Christmas traditions, since this year marks the 50th anniversary of Birmingham’s twinning with Frankfurt. Each year, the arrival of the Frankfurt Christmas Market marks the beginning of the city coming alive for the festive period. With over 120 stalls, Christmas time in Birmingham has something to offer everyone; from scrumptious German food and drink to authentic craft goods, toys, decorations and clothing.

VIENNA

Possibly the most spectacular of the UK’s Christmas markets, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland returns on 20 th November for six thrilling weeks of winter festivities. Not solely for Christmas shopping, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland offers something for all. With helter skelters and Ice sculptures providing the perfect amusement for the little ones, adults can either take to the rollercoasters too or enjoy a glass of mulled wine.
