The Surrey Cook's Just Add Wine launches crowdfunding campign

Weybridge-based The Surrey Cook has raised almost a quarter of its £87,000 investment target, less than a week after launching a crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube.

Launched in 2015, Just Add Wine is the brainchild of TV executive Neil Osborne. Osborne saw a gap in the cooking market for a method for home cooks to flavour any dish or recipe with real wine – without the hassle or expense of having to buy or open a bottle of wine. Just Add Wine is the solution, with each little sachet containing the concentrated equivalent of a 175ml glass of full-bodied red wine, sourced from the vineyards of Southern France.

Just Add Wine quickly secured a nationwide listing with Sainsbury’s within just a few weeks of launching, and can be found in 286 stores across the country. Osborne and his brand are now turning to its customer to help fund expansion plans, with a crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube.

Would-be investors can make investments starting at £10 in the business, whilst potentially sharing in the company’s future profits. If the Crowdcube campaign raises its target £87,000, Osborne and his developing team to expand distribution of Just Add Wine throughout the UK, open a number of overseas channels and underpin the brand with much needed marketing.

As Founder & CEO of The Surrey Cook, Neil Osborne, says: “We looked at a number of routes to expansion finance and ultimately settled on Crowdcube primarily because of its accessibility to our customers, these are Just Add Wine fans who can now all share in our business adventure – even if investing is new to them. It’s already starting to feel like a giant Just Add Wine team!”

The crowdfunding campaign will run for 32 more days, and can be found here.
