Technology giant Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) have patented a design for a revolutionary round pizza box, with the all-important intention of preventing a soggy crust.

The special kind of pizza box, for which Apple filed for a patent seven years ago, will be available at its employee cafeteria. Its patent was granted due to the addition of “a series of holes that have been drilled into the lid of the box, allowing steamy air to escape and give the eater ease of mind that their pizza crust will not be soggy.”

It is rumoured that Apple Park cafe chief Francesco Longoni helped create the unique box which is round in shape and made of recycled materials. A series of air vents helps to prevent the oil in the pizza from solidifying.

The new box is set served in Apple Park, the technology giant’s new headquarters in Cupertino, California. According to reports, the innovative design is to foster  an environment that will motivate engineers, designers and cafe managers to always aspire for innovation and quality.
