Tui has announced plans to offer £20 Covid tests for people travelling to green list countries this summer.
The £20 package will include a pre-departure lateral flow test and a PCR test on day two after their return. This is to make holidays this summer “easy and affordable”.
Currently, PCR tests cost around £120 in the UK.
The traffic light system for travel will be announced on Friday. Malta, Gibraltar, Iceland and Israel are expected to be on the green list.
“We have always believed that cost-effective testing solutions, as well as maximum flexibility, will make travel a possibility this summer and beyond,” said Andrew Flintham, who is the managing director of Tui UK & Ireland.
“Our research has shown that customers are looking forward to their much-needed holiday overseas, but affordable and easy testing solutions was imperative to make this a reality.
“Also, should testing requirements change between purchase and travel, for example, if an amber package is purchased and the destination moves onto the green list, we’ll simply refund the difference,” he added.
Expected to be on the Amber list are countries including Spain, France and Greece.
