Chocolate brand Raw Halo continues crowdfunding success

The 'free from' and vegan chocolate brand has so far reached 132% of its crowdfunding target.

After reaching its target goal of £85,000 last week, the award-winning raw chocolate brand Raw Halo has extended its campaign on Crowdcube and has currently raised 132 percent of its original target.

Raw Halo is a ‘healthy’ chocolate brand, which boasts product free from refined sugar, wheat, gluten, and dairy.

What makes Raw Halo different from other brands on the market?

“Aside from the indulgent taste and creative flavour combinations, it’s our commitment and passion for refined sugar-free. Although some other brands also use coconut sugar and lucuma powder to naturally sweeten their bars, we use significantly less. In fact, by weight our Pure Mylk bar has almost half the amount of total sugars compared to other leading raw chocolate companies offering milk chocolate alternatives. An excuse to have a little Raw Halo every day? We like to think so.”

Founded by Meg Hagger, who adopted a refined sugar-free diet back in 2012, the company want consumers to “feel inspired to continue your journey of eating well without having to sacrifice life’s little luxuries.”

Meg saw a gap in the market for a good quality raw chocolate product that isn’t full of additives or sugar alternatives.

“We believe we have created a new segment within the raw chocolate category, targeting current consumers and encouraging them to trade up from regular raw/vegan chocolate to our more premium offering”

Operating within the UK’s fastest growing supermarket categories, including “Free-From” (up 13 percent on last year, with an estimated 2016 worth of £531 million), Raw Halo expects a forecast revenue of £300k for YE17 across over 300 stockists.

The funds raised on Crowdcube will be used to moving production to a dedicated chocolate manufacturing partner, invest in sales and marketing tools, and for new product development.

The company’s range is already sold in over 120 countries by more than 150 stockists, including Planet Organic and As Nature Intended.
