The government has said that it will be providing support as energy bills are expected to hit their highest ever.

A price cap of around £2,000 is expected to be announced by Ofgem. The government has said it will cut bills for households across the UK.

The government’s “rebate and clawback” scheme will offer loans to energy companies, who can lower bills for households.

“Ballooning wholesale gas prices are driving energy bills up and customers need government to act now, especially to support those most in need,” commented Philippe Commaret.
