Trump attacks Jeff Sessions for “weak position” over Clinton

In true Trump fashion, the US President took to Twitter on Tuesday to attack Jeff Sessions on his “VERY weak position” over Clinton’s email controversy during the US election.

The US President attacked Sessions for not thoroughly investigating Clinton during the Presidential race over a series of private emails, whilst also accusing Ukraine of backing the Democrat candidate.

“Attorney General Jeff Sessions has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes (where are E-mails &DNC server) & Intel leakers!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

“Problem is that the acting head of the FBI & the person in charge of the Hillary investigation, Andrew McCabe, got $700,000 from H for wife!”

“Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump campaign – ‘quietly working to boost Clinton’. So where is the investigation A.G” The US President wrote in an earlier tweet.

This is not the first time that Trump has taken to Twitter to attack Sessions. Earlier this month, Trump referred to him as “beleaguered”.

Advisor to the President, Newt Gingrich, said on Monday that the President was being “honest about his feelings. But that doesn’t mean he’s going to do anything”.

“Anybody who is good at team building would suggest to the president that attacking members of your team rattles the whole team,” he added.

The US President has also taken to Twitter to defend son-in-law Jared Kushner, writing: “Jared Kushner did very well yesterday in proving he did not collude with the Russians. Witch Hunt. Next up, 11 year old Barron Trump!”

Jared Kushner has been accused of working with Russia during the US election, which he has denied despite meeting with Donald Trump Jr and a Russian lawyer.

Kushner did admit that he had four contacts with Russian officials during the 2016 election but said they were part of his role in the campaign to work with foreign governments.
