Trump on CNN boss: “AT&T should fire him”

Countries on the list are Chad, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen, plus North Korea and Venezuela.

Donald Trump has called for CNN’s President Jeff Zucker to be fired.

In a Twitter post, the US President wrote that CNN’s “hatred and extreme bias” towards him made the media organisation “unable to function”.

“Little Jeff Z has done a terrible job, his ratings suck, & AT&T should fire him to save credibility!” he said in a Tweet.

AT&T (NYSE: T) has not responded but the CNN communications Twitter wrote: “Make no mistake, Mr. President, CNN does not lie. We report the news. And we report when people in power tell lies. CNN stands by our reporting and our reporters. There may be many fools in this story but is not one of them.”

Donald Trump has had a long issue with the CNN broadcaster, maintaining they are biased. CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins was barred from a White House event last month after she asked the President questions about Russian President Vladimir Putin and Mr Trump’s ex-lawyer, Michael Cohen.

CNN boss Zucker, who Trump directed his tweet to, is currently on six weeks’ leave from the group following heart surgery.

It is not only CNN that Trump has targetted but many other media platforms.

On Thursday he also criticised NBC News. “What’s going on at CNN is happening, to different degrees, at other networks – with NBC News being the worst,” he wrote on Twitter.

In June, Trump said that the Washington Post was “fake news” and was purchased by Amazon to help it avoid paying internet taxes.

Earlier this week, Trump accused Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) of hiding “fair media” coverage of him.

He wrote on Twitter: “Google search results for ‘Trump News’ shows only the viewing/reporting of Fake New Media”

”In other words, they have it RIGGED, for me & others, so that almost all stories & news is BAD. Fake CNN is prominent. Republican/Conservative & Fair Media is shut out. Illegal?”

“96 percent of results on ‘Trump News’ are from National Left-Wing Media, very dangerous. Google & others are suppressing voices of Conservatives and hiding information and news that is good. They are controlling what we can & cannot see. This is a very serious situation – will be addressed!” he added.

Google’s director of news tweeted that the claims were “not true”.
